About me

I am based in the beautiful mill town of Belper in Derbyshire, a World UNESCO heritage site. I cover Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and have familial links in Lancashire. I would also consider travelling further afield and even abroad if required.

I trained at the International College of Professional Celebrants (ICPC) and am undertaking the highest level of accreditation available in the celebrant profession: the Platinum Double Diploma NOCN as a commitment to my dedication to be the best celebrant I can be.

Prior to training I was a professional actress, singer and director with my own theatre company for over 25 years. I was classically trained at the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic art therefore I am an eloquent and charismatic public speaker, confident in ensuring “It all goes right on the night” and “keeping my head when all around are losing theirs!”

I can share in the joys of life as well as empathise when life is sad or difficult. I have known much of both and the journeys they take us on.

After my husband died, needing to raise two little girls, it was time to find a “proper job”, so I retrained as a Primary School Teacher, a role I have enjoyed for over 12 years now.

Consequently, I am adept at writing, diplomacy, time management, understanding and mindful of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Just before COVID I began training as a psychotherapist which sadly I was unable to complete after the first year, however during this time I trained and qualified as a trainer for The Infant Loss Foundation. I also regularly perform GP role play where I am a patient for trainee GPs and Registrars to practise their skills in readiness for their final exams.

I have been proud and privileged to use my life’s experiences to become a celebrant and I am honoured and excited to work with you.
